Let me start by saying that I do not have any professional background in art, drama, music, literature, or any of that good stuff. I’m not a professional critic. I don’t even know how someone would go about becoming one. What I do know is what I like, and what I don’t like. And I’m just going to lay it out there right now; my tastes can be a little strange.

I don’t expect everybody to share in my preferences, and that’s okay. If you don’t like something, I highly doubt that my opinion is going change that, and I totally understand. I’m not a big fan of romantic comedies and all the five star reviews in the world won’t change that. I will never be convinced of the value of movies like Cannibal Holocaust and A Serbian Film, despite the number of people willing to defend them (and I’m a highly twisted person with an extreme love of horror movies).

The most I can promise is that I’ll try to make my reviews as informative as I can so you’ll be able to form your own opinions. And please don’t take my final word for it. There have been many movies, books, etc. that have been critically acclaimed and I have yet to see the appeal. Likewise, there are some things that have been critically panned which have left me in stitches, or tears. Personal taste is unique and that’s the way it should be.
