On Attraction

Attraction...look it up and you'll find a bevy of definitions, and explanations, and God only knows what else. But can anyone say why attraction really happens? Why is it that one person can make your brain into complete mush, and another can send you running for the hills? I'm curious, you see, because I'm trying to figure out what attracts me to a woman. I'm curious because most of the time what others consider a hottie doesn't even, as I put it, get a blip on my radar.

Is it that attraction is based on the physical? In that case it should be easy.

- I'd like that she's tall and slim but still has all the curves in all the right places.
- I'd like full lips and will often appear to be listening when in fact I'm just looking at her talk.
- I'd like the curve of her neck to show just enough collarbone to be kissable.
- I'd like elegant hands, especially when they look like they can fit into mine.

Highly important, yes. Happened to me before, yes...oh God yes. That should be it then, but I don't think it is. For me, real attraction has to be so much more.

- I'd like that she's intelligent enough for me to ramble on about anything and she doesn't look confused.
- I'd like that we could talk for hours and it only seems like minutes.
- I'd like that she could make me laugh like no other.
- I'd like that she wants me to be who I am, not tolerates it.

Maybe that's what attraction truly is...a desire for both. A desire for something beautiful to look at, that's even more beautiful on the inside. A desire to touch and to hold said beautiful thing...to make it yours. I'll let you know if I ever figure it out.

The End.
